Job summary

Samsara, a leading Connected Operations cloud company, is hiring a Senior Embedded Software Engineer in San Francisco. You will develop firmware for millions of devices, from board bring-up to driver and bootloader development, while coordinating with product, mobile, and QA teams to ensure reliable data flows and robust system design.

You will work with C, RTOS concepts, and Linux-based gateways, focusing on power efficiency and scalable firmware architecture to support Samsara’s hardware

Qualifications

• 8+ years building firmware for resource-constrained systems.
• Led firmware development end-to-end for multiple products.
• Experience with bare-metal and RTOS (Zephyr/FreeRTOS).

Responsibilities

• Shape the hardware, not just the code.
• Bring up new boards and prototypes from virgin silicon.
• Own peripheral drivers and core management layers.
• Design battery-conscious firmware for sensors.Collaborate with product, full-stack, mobile and QA engineers.
• Mentor and raise engineering practices to deliver high-quality solutions.
