The candidate will collaborate across disciplines and ensure compliance with medical device regulations while delivering safe, manufacturable solutions for cutting-edge orthopedic power tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
• Eight+ years in embedded hardware/firmware architecture.
• Strong foundation in analog/digital/mixed-signal design and power electronics.
• Extensive hands-on firmware in C for microcontroller-based systems.
• Experience with SPI, I2C, UART, LIN, CAN interfaces.
• PCB development, schematic capture, board bring-up, hardware/firmware integration.
• Experience delivering products in a regulated design-control environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in cross-disciplinary settings.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop surgical power tools, motor controllers, battery systems, chargers, handpieces, accessories, and related equipment.
• Define electrical system architectures including power distribution and motor drive circuitry.
• Develop firmware interfaces to battery-management ICs and charging circuits.
• Support IEC 60601-1, IEC 62133, ISO 13485, FDA design controls compliance.
• Collaborate with mechanical, systems, quality, regulatory, manufacturing, and software teams.
• Perform board bring-up and verification testing.
