Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Staff R&D Project Manager for the Power Tools platform based in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. You will plan, lead, and drive complex hardware and software development across mechanical, electrical, firmware, V&V, regulatory, and manufacturing teams.

You will own the integrated master schedule, manage budgets and EVM, and ensure phase-gate readiness and design transfer to enable timely delivery of orthopaedic innovations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Biomedical Engineering, or related engineering field.
• 5+ years of project management experience within regulated Class II product development environments.
• Experience with phase-gate execution and design controls documentation in a QMS environment.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills; ability to produce clear dashboards and updates.

Responsibilities

• Own project planning and baseline management for assigned Power Tools projects, including project charter, scope baseline, WBS, and an integrated master schedule aligned to hardware build lead times.
• Manage project schedule execution, critical path tracking, milestone readiness, and schedule recovery actions; provide weekly status to platform leadership.
• Coordinate integration across mechanical, electrical, firmware, and manufacturing workstreams; ensure interfaces and design changes are aligned to a single plan.
• Own the project budget baseline, track actuals and forecasts, and perform earned value management (EVM) tracking.
• Maintain RAID log with proactive mitigation actions and escalate risks as needed.
• Lead weekly project core team meetings and drive action/decision tracking for cross-functional contributors.
• Drive disciplined design controls and Design & Development Planning (DDP) execution to support regulatory and quality expectations.
