Job summary

Mortenson Construction seeks an Electrical Superintendent I for the Power Delivery Group to coordinate, plan, and oversee electrical crews, contractors, and crafts in a dynamic environment. You will mentor field teams, manage schedule updates, and ensure compliance with drawings and specifications across complex MV projects.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, 13+ years supervisory experience, and extensive MV cable expertise.

Qualifications

• Minimum 13 years supervisory experience.
• Experience with high and medium voltage equipment and cables.
• Substation construction and collection lines installation knowledge.
• Familiarity with electrical drawings, underground ducts, manholes, vaults, and SCADA systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate electrical scope work for high-quality installation (underground cabling, overhead lines, substations).
• Supervise construction of collection system and connect to existing distribution system.
• Provide reviews of drawings, constructability, submittals, and feedback with engineering team.
• Develop project schedules with Sr. Superintendent, including three-week look-ahead.
• Ensure resources and safety compliance; supervise self-performed and subcontracted work.
• Monitor safety programs and OSHA reporting; assist with incident analysis.
• Mentor field personnel and conduct performance evaluations.
• Maintain relationships with visitors and manage union issues.
