Job summary

Irby Construction Company is seeking a Senior Project Manager based in Richland, Mississippi, to lead electrical transmission, distribution, and substation projects across the Central Regional office. You will oversee planning, scheduling, budgeting, and safety compliance, guiding technical direction and ensuring project success.

The role requires extensive PM experience in the electrical construction sector, strong leadership, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent experience (5+ years’ project management in the construction industry).
• 10 years or more of experience in the electrical industry and/or project management within transmission, distribution, or substation construction projects is preferred.
• Ability to read and understand civil, architectural, structural, mechanical plans and specifications related to electrical work.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experienced with estimating software tools.
• Ability to prepare and support preparation of construction schedules in Microsoft Project and/or Primavera.

Responsibilities

• Prepare project construction schedules
• Prepare and submit RFIs to clients
• Manage day-to-day activities of assigned projects
• Act as the main point-of-contact on large complex projects
• Coordinate and lead meetings, schedule updates, deliverables and address open items
• Prepare look-ahead documents and progress reports
• Review and monitor job costs versus budgets
• Report regularly to the management team
• Assist in negotiating changes to design, scope, and schedules
• Support safety vision and compliance with safety rules
