Job summary

Irby Construction Company, a leading electrical contractor, seeks a Senior Project Manager for our Central Regional office in Richland, Mississippi. You will oversee transmission, distribution, substation projects and ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery across multiple states.

Responsibilities include scheduling, RFIs, budgeting, cost control, and coordinating with diverse teams. A Bachelor's in Engineering/Construction and 10+ years in electrical PM preferred; MS Project/Primavera

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent experience (5+ years’ project management in the construction industry).
• 10 years or more of experience in the electrical industry and/or project management within transmission, distribution, or substation construction preferred.
• Knowledgeable about specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time/cost/labor estimates for projects and services.
• Able to read and understand civil, architectural, structural, mechanical plans and specifications to include blueprints, proposals, and other documents as they relate to electrical work.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experienced with estimating software tools.
• Ability to prepare and/or support preparation of construction schedules in Microsoft Project and/or Primavera.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and verbal and written communication skills.
• Team player with diverse partners.
• Self-driven with ability to stay on-task for extended periods.
• Leadership experience, reliability, customer-oriented.
• Ability to plan, coordinate, and provide leadership for complex construction projects and manage a large workforce.
• Ability to delegate and manage multiple operations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare project construction schedules.
• Prepare and submit RFIs to clients.
• Manage day-to-day activities of assigned projects.
• Act as the main point-of-contact on large complex projects.
• Coordinate and lead meetings, schedule updates, deliverables and address items requested by clients.
• Prepare look-ahead documents and weekly/monthly progress reports and related billing information.
• Review and monitor job costs versus budgets.
• Report regularly to the management team.
• Help prepare comprehensive cost estimates for projects.
• Prepare bills of material and other information.
• Monitor equipment utilization (owned, leased, rented).
• Develop work plans and collaborate with construction Superintendent.
• Monitor work for schedule, budget, quality, safety, and contract conformance.
• Attend progress meetings, develop status reports, and deliver presentations.
• Assist in negotiating changes to design, scope, and schedules.
• Support safety vision and compliance with rules and policies.
• Project accounting: budget, expenses, forecasting, margins, risk.
• Oversee project field office personnel.
• Understand and comply with Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.
• Regular attendance.
• Additional duties as assigned.
