Job summary

Irby Construction Company, a leading electrical contractor, is seeking a Senior Project Manager based in Richland, Mississippi. You will oversee transmission, distribution, and substation projects across the Central Regional office and nearby states, driving planning, scheduling, budgeting and safety compliance.

You will lead large teams, coordinate with clients and subcontractors, prepare cost estimates, monitor progress, and ensure on‑time delivery within scope.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years’ project management experience in the construction industry.
• 10+ years in electrical industry or PM experience in transmission, distribution, or substation projects.
• Ability to read civil, architectural, structural, mechanical plans and specs related to electrical work.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with estimating software tools.
• Ability to prepare and/or support construction schedules in MS Project and/or Primavera.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare project construction schedules.
• Prepare and submit RFIs to clients.
• Manage day-to-day activities of assigned projects.
• Act as the main point-of-contact on large complex projects.
• Coordinate and lead meetings, schedule updates, and deliverables for clients.
• Prepare look-ahead documents and progress reports with related billing information.
• Review and monitor job costs versus budgets.
• Report to management on project status and risks.
• Develop cost estimates and prepare bills of material.
• Monitor equipment utilization and oversee field office personnel.
• Ensure compliance with safety, schedule, budget, quality and contract documents.
