Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is hiring for a senior electrical analysis role in our Chicago area office. The position combines on-site collaboration with flexible remote work, supporting projects across substation, transmission, conventional power, nuclear and renewables.

The successful candidate will perform protection, power-flow, arc-flash, transient, harmonic, grounding, and renewable energy studies, using ETAP, SKM, PSCAD and EMTP-RV, while communicating clearly with project teams and clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; 5+ years of electrical analysis experience.
• Experience with ETAP, SKM, PSCAD and EMTP‑RV for power systems analyses.
• Proficiency with MS Office; strong written and verbal communication.
• Solid interpersonal skills and ability to guide others.

Responsibilities

• Perform relay setting calculations for protection schemes.
• Conduct power system calculations and arc flash studies.
• Compute cable ampacity and analyze transients.
• Perform harmonic, grounding and induction analyses.
• Include renewable energy calculations; occasional on-site project travel.
