Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Chicago, IL, is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to perform advanced electrical analyses for power projects. The role combines on-site collaboration with a hybrid work arrangement, including remote work flexibility.

You will conduct relay, power system, arc flash, and grounding studies using ETAP, SKM, PSCAD and EMTP-RV, mentor others, and engage with clients across projects, with travel to client offices as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering; Master’s/PhD preferred.
• 10+ years of experience performing electrical analysis.
• Experience with ETAP, SKM, PSCAD, EMTP-RV.
• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to guide others.

Responsibilities

• Perform relay setting calculations.
• Carry out power system calculations.
• Conduct arc flash calculations.
• Perform cable ampacity calculations.
• Conduct transient analysis.
• Perform harmonic analysis.
• Perform renewable energy calculations.
• Perform grounding and induction calculations.
• Travel to client offices as needed for on-site consultation.
