Job summary

Hargrove and Associates is seeking an experienced Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer to design complex electrical and instrumentation systems. The role involves performing advanced engineering tasks, preparing detailed calculations, and guiding drafting personnel under general supervision.

The position emphasizes leading small-to-mid projects, coordinating with other staff, and providing on-site startup support. A strong NEC background and PE registration are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and application of the current version of the NEC.
• Ability to perform lighting level calculations.
• Ability to size wire, conduit and overcurrent protection for both lighting and power applications.
• Ability to perform voltage drop calculations.
• Ability to route conduit and cable tray.
• Ability to calculate tray and conduit fill.
• Ability to determine motor control center loading.

Responsibilities

• Design and complete electrical and instrumentation engineering assignments under general supervision.
• Provide on-site startup assistance.
• Lead small to mid-sized projects as discipline lead.
• Produce detailed design calculations and sketches for materials of construction.
• Review vendor drawings and ensure conformance to specs and standards.
• Coordinate work activities with staff and discipline leads.
• Check calculations produced by others for accuracy and compliance.
• Develop construction specifications and project packages for procurement.
