Placements24 is assisting a progressive developer focused on sustainable infrastructure to hire an Electrical Project Engineer in Welkom, Free State. The role covers planning, execution, and oversight of electrical infrastructure with a hybrid work model blending remote flexibility and on-site collaboration.

You will manage electrical components, develop plans and cost estimates, supervise distribution networks and substations, coordinate with contractors, and ensure compliance with safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 6+ years of relevant experience in electrical project engineering, preferably within infrastructure development.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with project management software and methodologies.
• Excellent understanding of contract administration and procurement processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage electrical engineering aspects of infrastructure projects, ensuring timely and budget-compliant completion.
• Develop project plans, schedules, and cost estimates for electrical components.
• Oversee the design and specification of electrical distribution networks, substations, and associated infrastructure.
• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth project execution.
• Conduct site inspections and quality control checks to ensure work meets design and safety standards.
• Review and approve technical submittals and shop drawings from contractors.
• Identify and mitigate project risks, resolving technical issues as they arise.
• Ensure all projects comply with national and international electrical engineering standards and safety regulations.
• Prepare progress reports and maintain accurate project documentation.
