Job summary

Norlee Group is seeking a Lead Electrical Estimator to direct the estimating process for commercial electrical construction. The role involves reviewing drawings, performing detailed takeoffs, soliciting vendor pricing, and coordinating with leadership and project teams to deliver competitive bids.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years of electrical estimating experience, strong leadership and negotiation skills, and familiarity with NEC codes. Experience with K–12 education projects is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, Electrical Construction, or related field preferred.
• Five or more years of electrical estimating experience.
• Experience leading bid preparation, coordinating vendor pricing, reviewing subcontractor quotations, and managing bid deadlines.
• Strong understanding of electrical construction drawings, one-line diagrams, panel schedules, lighting plans and equipment schedules.
• Experience estimating electrical distribution, conduit and wiring, switchgear, panelboards, transformers, lighting, lighting controls.
• Familiarity with NEC and local codes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead estimating process for commercial electrical construction opportunities from review through proposal submission.
• Review project documents to determine estimating requirements and bid scope.
• Coordinate estimating activities with leadership, estimators, project managers, and purchasing.
• Perform detailed electrical material and labor takeoffs from drawings and specs.
• Develop labor hour estimates using established units and site conditions.
• Prepare detailed bid summaries, pricing breakdowns, and proposals.
• Lead pre-bid meetings, site visits, and scope reviews.
• Ensure estimates are complete, accurate, and submitted on time.
