Job summary

Matrix Service Company is seeking a Sr. Electrical Project Manager, EPC to lead and direct field projects on upcoming large-scale sites within our Electrical division.

You will oversee project scope, budget, schedule and profit/Loss, while coordinating with clients and subcontractors to ensure safety and quality. The role requires 10+ years of supervisory EPC experience, PMI certification preferred, and a strong background in MS Office and scheduling software.

Qualifications

• 4 year degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Construction Management; or combination of equivalent education and 15 years job-related experience if no degree
• Prior project management/P&L experience preferred; includes 10+ years supervisory experience in Electrical EPC project work, preferably in a union environment
• Experience working with union construction subcontractors is a plus
• Project Management Certification from PMI preferred
• Extensive understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes and standards and their impact on project activities
• Superior oral, written and interpersonal communication skills; strong negotiation skills
• Advanced knowledge of construction, design, finance, business development, and project management
• Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and project scheduling software
• Advanced ability to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize performance
• Proven track record of bringing projects in on time, on schedule, within budget, and safely
• Ability to manage occasional heavy workloads with time sensitive deadlines, prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting project objectives
• Demonstrated dependability and self-motivation to work on projects; take initiative to resolve problems; understand resources available and use resources effectively to generate solutions
• Ability to work on multiple projects at one time, prepare complex proposals, and estimate all types and sizes of projects
• Solid knowledge and understanding of financial statements and reports

Responsibilities

• Represent Company at bid meetings, project meetings, strategy meetings, etc.
• Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within corporate policy, including preparing or overseeing complete estimate for selected project with a detailed review of proposal specifications
• Plans, organizes and staffs key field positions through operational department heads or subordinate project/construction managers
• Supervises and/or monitors through administrative direction of on-site field supervision to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule
• Provides technical assistance and recommends construction methods and equipment; initiates and maintains extra work estimating and issuance of change orders
• Responsible for profit/loss accountability for projects managed; manages contracts finances and collections
• Develops new business opportunities relative to a particular Client, groups of Clients, or geographical area
• Additional responsibilities as required
