Job summary

Jacobs, a global technical leader, seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer – SME to shape electrical strategy for hyperscale, colocation, AI/HPC, and other mission-critical facilities. You will guide design and provide technical direction from utility interconnection through the IT load.

You will mentor engineers, review studies, and drive reliability and energy performance. This role offers hybrid working with site visits and opportunities to influence large-scale data center programs.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited program in electrical engineering required.
• PE license active in at least one US jurisdiction; ability to obtain additional licenses.
• 15–20+ years of professional electrical engineering experience in data centers or high-reliability facilities.
• Advanced expertise in MV/LV distribution, switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS, and related power systems.
• Solid knowledge of NEC/NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, NFPA 110, IEEE 1584, IEEE 3000-series standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical architecture from utility service through IT load.
• Provide senior leadership for MV/LV distribution, substations, transformers, switchgear, generator plants and UPS systems.
• Provide independent design governance, reviews of calculations, drawings and equipment selections.
• Drive project delivery through procurement, construction, commissioning and turnover; manage RFIs and design changes.
