Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer (Protection and Control) to join the Power team. This role can be performed from anywhere in the United States and focuses on P&C design for transmission, distribution, and renewables.

Ideal candidates hold a US PE license with 4+ years in P&C, enjoy mentoring others, and will work across SCADA, relay coordination, and substation automation in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• PE license in the United States is required.
• 4+ years of experience in protection and control for transmission, distribution, HVDC and renewables.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of protection and control (P&C) systems for transmission, distribution, and renewable projects.
• Perform coordination studies and relay programming.
• Oversee SCADA architecture, RTU configurations, IEC 61850 GOOSE, and substation automation.
• Plan, schedule, and monitor project work with Discipline Manager and Project Manager.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Ensure compliance with CSA, IEEE, NERC, NFPA 70, and client specs.
• Interface with clients, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams to drive project success.
