Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer specializing in power system protection to serve clients across the energy sector. The role focuses on protection calculations, relay settings, and compliance with NERC PRC standards, with a hybrid work schedule combining office and remote work.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of relevant experience, exposure to HV/EHV substations, generator and motor protection studies, and proficiency with ETAP, SKM, Aspen, and related relay software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; advanced degree preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in power system protection.
• Experience with microprocessor-based relays (SEL, Beckwith, GE, ABB, etc.).
• Experience with micro-processor based relay software (SEL AcSELerator, GE Enervista, etc.).
• Experience with Generator, Transformer, and Motor protection studies.
• Experience with HV/EHV substation and line relaying.
• Experience with LV breaker protection.
• Experience with protection software such as ETAP, SKM, and Aspen.
• Experience with NERC PRC compliance evaluations.

Responsibilities

• Perform protection system calculations and analysis for diverse clients.
• Develop relay settings for HV/EHV substations and transmission lines.
• Develop relay settings for generators, transformers, motors, and protection devices.
• Assist clients in complying with NERC PRC standards.
• Relaying event report analysis.
