Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a design engineer to join its Government Services Division in a hybrid role, working on electrical systems for multi-disciplinary DOE and nuclear-related projects. You will contribute to design calculations, reports, and specifications, while mentoring junior engineers.

The position requires a U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain a government security clearance and a BSEE or MSEE from an ABET-accredited program, with 5+ years of relevant experience in electrical

Qualifications

Must be able to obtain US Government security clearance.
5+ years of progressive experience in electrical engineering, ideally in a nuclear environment.
Experience with electrical distribution systems and instrumentation wiring; knowledge of NEC, UL508, electrical codes, and IES Lighting Handbook.

Responsibilities

Support electrical design engineering on multi-disciplined project teams.
Produce engineering calculations, analyses and reports.
Prepare design inputs for drawings including site plans, power/lighting plans, one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams.
Apply electrical engineering to design and qualification of structures, systems and components.
Produce procurement and construction specifications.
Attend project meetings and perform field walk downs.
Provide mentorship to less experienced engineers.
