Job summary

Sargent & Lundy, Government Services Division, is seeking a design engineer to join a multi-discipline team in electrical design for DOE/NNSA facilities. Hybrid work, opportunity for career advancement, and mentorship.

You will produce engineering calculations and drawings, apply NEC/UL codes, and support field walk downs; requires BSEE/MSEE ABET, 5+ years, and ability to obtain US security clearance.

Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain US Government security clearance.
• BSEE or MSEE degree from ABET-accredited program.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in electrical engineering, ideally in a nuclear environment.
• Experience with designing low to medium voltage electrical distribution and instrumentation wiring.
• Experience with NEC, UL508, electrical codes, and IES Lighting Handbook.
• Proficiency in ETAP/SKM or similar software; ability to learn lighting analysis software (Visual/AGI32).

Responsibilities

• Support electrical design engineering on a multi-disciplinary project team.
• Produce engineering calculations, analyses, and reports.
• Prepare design inputs for drawings: site plans, power/lighting, one-lines, wiring diagrams.
• Apply electrical engineering to design/qualification of structures and systems.
• Produce procurement and construction specifications.
• Attend project meetings and perform field walk-downs.
• Provide mentorship to less experienced engineers.
