Job summary

Arup is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to anchor the Energy Team's delivery of projects, focusing on distributed energy microgrids, large-scale EVSE charging, and energy evaluations in urban settings. The role spans behind-the-meter and front-of-the-meter applications, with collaboration across energy modelers, electrical & power engineers, and resilience specialists.

The candidate will lead design packages from concept to construction, manage interconnection permits, perform feasibility

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering.
At least 8 years experience in renewable power generation at urban/utility scale.
Experience performing electrical calculations and developing detailed design drawings and specifications.
PE license or eligibility to obtain PE license; able to take on EOR role.
Strong technical communication skills (writing and verbal).
Ability to perform techno-economic evaluations using PVSyst, Helioscope, Homer or Xendee.
Experience with AutoCAD for design/analysis.

Responsibilities

Prepare design packages from conceptualization to construction documents for multidisciplinary energy projects up to 1000V.
Lead preparation of interconnection permits and load letters.
Deliver feasibility studies and red flag reports.
Produce energy modeling to quantify energy needs and right‑size equipment.
Provide construction support.
Present work to client and capture feedback.
Develop technical proposals for prospective work.
