Arup in Washington DC is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to anchor the Energy Team and lead design of behind-the-meter and front-of-the-meter energy projects. The role focuses on urban energy, microgrids, and large EVSE infrastructure, with responsibility for technical and economic evaluation and client interaction.
You will join a multidisciplinary team of energy modelers, electrical & power engineers, and resilience consultants, delivering projects from concept through construction.

We are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer who will help anchor the Energy Team's delivery of projects. This role will be based in our East Geography (can be based out of our Boston, Chicago, New York, New Jersey or Washington DC offices) and is suited to a candidate who has both passion and experience finding opportunities for distributed energy microgrids, large scale EVSE charging infrastructure, leading technical and economic evaluation of systems, and evaluating conceptual opportunities for microgrid applicability. This role is focused on leading the engineering design of behind-the-meter and front-of-the-meter energy applications.
The successful individual will join an integrated and growing team of urban energy professionals across disciplines in a well-rounded service offering inclusive of energy modelers, campus thermal system engineers, electrical & power engineers, civil engineers, economic advisors, and resilience & sustainability consultants.

The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Boston is $128,000 to $159,000 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Boston will differ.
