Job summary

CMTA, a Legence company, is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with 8+ years of experience to design and oversee electrical systems for diverse projects in the Dallas–Plano, TX area. The role focuses on power distribution, lighting, emergency power, UPS, renewables, fire alarm, and low-voltage coordination as part of bid and construction phases.

Onsite in Dallas–Plano office. The ideal candidate will lead design teams, mentor engineers, review drawings and specs, and engage with owners,

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in MEP design.
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience with internal and external project management.
• Experience in MEP design and specifications.
• Experience with managing Owner and Architect relationships.
• Experience with Healthcare, Higher Education, K-12 and Commercial market sectors.
• Experience with Revit/AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Lead and guide design and construction projects internally within the office and externally with clients and contractors.
• Provide guidance, support, mentorship, and leadership to staff engineers.
• Prepare, read, and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
• Stamp drawings, prepare affidavits, etc.
• Interacting with owners, clients, architects, and contractors as needed; lead and guide meetings.
• Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assigned tasks.
• Confer with other engineers and other personnel to complete project deadlines.
• Apply knowledge of engineering principles and research, design, and evaluate products, equipment, systems, and processes to meet project requirements.
• Design and specify system components to ensure conformance with project goals and requirements.
• Research and analyze clients design requirements, manuals, and other data to evaluate feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
• Review contractor submittals (shop drawings, etc.) to determine conformance with contract documents.
