Job summary

CMTA, a Legence Company, seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to design and oversee electrical systems for high-performance buildings from our Chicago office. You will lead power distribution, lighting, controls, UPS, and fire alarm projects, coordinating with other engineers and clients to deliver energy-efficient solutions.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering; PE preferred, with experience in healthcare, education, and commercial sectors, and proficiency in

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; PE license preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in MEP design.
• Experience with internal and external project management.
• Proficiency with Revit/AutoCAD.
• Experience in healthcare, higher education, K-12 and commercial markets.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and construction projects internally within the office and externally with clients and contractors.
• Lead project pursuits by contributing to RFPs/RFQs and participating in interviews.
• Provide mentorship and leadership to staff engineers.
• Prepare, read, and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
• Stamp drawings and affidavits as needed.
• Communicate scope, schedule, and budget to clients and teams.
• Coordinate with owners, clients, architects, and contractors.
• Apply engineering principles to meet project goals and requirements.
• Design and specify system components to meet project requirements.
• Review contractor submittals for conformance with contract documents.
