Job summary

AECOM Senior Electrical Engineer role involves joining a multi-disciplinary design team to address challenging power generation tasks. The position supports remote work and locations across the United States Energy offices.

You will lead electrical design efforts, mentor engineers, and contribute to risk assessments, feasibility studies, and commissioning activities. Strong technical background and PE licensure pathway preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• EIT Certification with the ability to license as a PE within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Electrical Lead/Engineering of Record on projects, delivering development and design work.
• Mentor other electrical engineers within the department and remote teams.
• Develop task lists with hours estimates and schedules for business development.
• Provide technical expertise for risk assessments, due diligence, and complex solutions for clients.
• Support full project life cycle from feasibility to commissioning.
• Perform power system studies and calculations (load flow, short circuit, protective coordination, arc flash).
• Create electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, and wiring schematics.
• Develop BOMs and Equipment Lists; prepare equipment specifications.
• Conduct quality control reviews; participate in internal and client meetings and travel as needed.
