Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Industrial Electrical Engineer to lead power system designs for large-scale manufacturing facilities within our Advanced Manufacturing practice. This role drives electrical infrastructure design from concept through construction, commissioning and energization, collaborating with clients, utilities and vendors.

You will work on projects across semiconductor, battery, energy and defense sectors, applying NEC, NFPA, and IEEE standards, mentoring engineers and delivering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 6+ years of relevant experience or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of NEC (NFPA 70), NFPA 70E, NFPA 110 and IEEE power system standards.
• PE license required or EIT with ability to obtain PE within 24 months.
• Proficiency in ETAP or SKM, and Revit and/or AutoCAD Electrical.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Design medium- to high-voltage distribution (up to 35 kV) including substations and switchgear for large manufacturing facilities.
• Lead utility coordination and interconnection studies with providers.
• Perform power system studies: load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, arc flash and harmonics.
• Design power quality, UPS, generation, BESS, and redundancy architectures.
• Define hazardous area classifications and grounding/lighting protection.
• Prepare technical specifications and support construction, commissioning and energization.
