Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Industrial Electrical Engineer to lead power system designs for large-scale manufacturing facilities in a hybrid role. You will oversee electrical infrastructure, utility interconnections, medium-voltage distribution, and reliability planning while coordinating with clients and vendors.

You will guide senior engineers, perform complex power studies, and ensure safe, efficient operation across semiconductor, battery, energy, and defense projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 6 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of NEC/NFPA IEEE standards.
• PE license or EIT with plan to obtain PE within 24 months.
• Proficiency in ETAP or SKM and Revit and AutoCAD Electrical.
• US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Design medium- and low-voltage distribution (480 V to 35 kV) including substations and switchgear.
• Lead utility coordination and interconnection studies with major providers.
• Perform power system studies: load flow, short circuit, protective coordination, arc flash, harmonics.
• Design power quality/reliability systems: UPS, standby gens, BESS, N+1/N+2 redundancy.
• Specify power for battery lines, VFDs, motors, automation and robotics.
• Define hazardous area classification and grounding/lighting protection.
• Contribute to lighting design per energy codes (ASHRAE 90.1 or IECC).
• Prepare technical specifications and support construction/commissioning.
• Mentor engineers and coordinate with multi-discipline teams.
