Job summary

Sargent & Lundy’s Government Services Division is seeking an electrical design engineer to join a multi-disciplined project team. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement with opportunities for career advancement in electrical engineering.

Responsibilities include producing calculations and reports, preparing design inputs for drawings, and applying engineering expertise to structures and systems. Mentorship of junior engineers is expected.

Qualifications

• Must hold a BSEE or MSEE from ABET-accredited program.
• 7+ years of progressive electrical engineering experience, preferably in a nuclear environment.
• Ability to obtain US Government security clearance.
• Experience with electrical design for low to medium voltage distribution and instrumentation wiring.
• Familiarity with NEC, UL508, electrical codes, and IES Lighting Handbook.
• Experience with ETAP and/or SKM Power Tools; Visual and AGI32 lighting analysis.

Responsibilities

• Support electrical design engineering efforts on multi-disciplined project design team.
• Produce engineering calculations/analyses and engineering reports.
• Prepare design inputs for drawings including site plans, power and lighting plans, one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and schedules.
• Apply electrical engineering expertise to design and qualification of structures, systems, and components.
• Produce procurement and construction specifications; attend project meetings and field walkdowns.
• Provide guidance as a mentor to less experienced engineers.
