Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks an electrical design engineer for a hybrid role with a mix of home and office work. The position offers challenging opportunities on multi-disciplined project design teams and clear opportunities for career advancement.

Responsibilities include supporting electrical design efforts, producing engineering calculations and reports, preparing design inputs for drawings (site plans, one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams), applying expertise to the design of structures and systems,

Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain US Government security clearance.
• ABET-accredited BSEE or MSEE degree.
• 7+ years of progressive electrical engineering experience, ideally in a nuclear environment.
• Experience with low to medium voltage distribution systems and instrumentation wiring.
• Familiarity with NEC, UL508, electrical codes, and IES Lighting Handbook.
• Ability to learn load flow/arc flash tools (ETAP/SKM) and lighting analysis software.

Responsibilities

• Support electrical design engineering efforts on multi-disciplinary project teams.
• Produce engineering calculations, analyses, and reports.
• Prepare design inputs for drawings (electrical site plans, power/lighting plans, one-line diagrams).
• Apply electrical engineering expertise to design and qualification of structures, systems, components.
• Produce procurement and construction specifications.
• Attend project meetings and perform field walk downs.
• Mentor less experienced engineers.
