Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our California team in Brea. You will lead electrical design from concept to completion on diverse projects including airports, commercial, government, and military facilities.

The role requires ABET- accredited EE training and 7+ years in engineering, with PE preferred. Expect fieldwork, CAD/BIM work, and coordination with project teams across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 7 years of electrical engineering and consulting experience required; 10 years preferred.
• PE license strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ANSI and IEEE standards for electrical equipment design.
• Experience with CAD/BIM standards and DoD/DoE projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design of projects from concept through design completion.
• Review production drawings for airports, commercial, government, and military facilities.
• Design electrical components such as single-line and riser diagrams and MV/LV infrastructure.
• Apply knowledge of standard electrical engineering concepts and procedures.
• Conduct field inspections, measurements, or calculations for clients.
• Lead quality reviews of engineering documents and specifications.
