Burns & McDonnell seeks an Assistant Electrical Engineer to support project teams designing electrical systems for power, process, healthcare, airports, and more. You will collaborate through design and construction, adapting plans to budgets and client needs.

The role favors an ABET-accredited EE degree, EIT or internship experience, and strong communication, analytical, and CAD skills. You will engage in fieldwork, drawings review, and client-facing activities within a dynamic multi-project

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field; ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Engineers in Training (EIT) Certification preferred.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 strongly preferred.
• Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Assist in electrical design from conceptual phase through design completion.
• Assist with reviewing production drawings for a variety of facilities (power, process, healthcare, airports, educational, commercial, government, military).
• Assist in designing electrical components per project manager requirements.
• Apply basic knowledge of electrical concepts, practices, codes and procedures.
• Assist with researching and compiling project data for managers.
• Assist in updating drawings across CAD software to verify corrections.
• Support client presentations, shop drawing reviews, and contract administration for diverse facilities.
• Perform field inspections, measurements or calculations as required.
• Contribute to policy and standard compliance; perform other duties as assigned.
