Job summary

WSP in Dallas, TX seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the Property & Buildings team. You will lead electrical design for diverse building projects, mentor junior staff, and help deliver from concept through construction, with opportunities to work in Austin as well.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, ensure code compliance, perform analyses, and contribute to client meetings and proposals while advancing sustainable design across healthcare, education, and civic facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of electrical engineering design experience for buildings.
• EIT certification; PE preferred or obtainable in a reasonable timeframe.
• Experience with power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low‑voltage systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and coordination of electrical systems for new builds, renovations, and tenant improvements.
• Develop construction documents for power, lighting, fire alarm, and low‑voltage systems.
• Perform electrical calculations, analyses, and studies and review RFIs and submittals.
• Coordinate with architects, MEPs, contractors, and owners; mentor junior staff.
• Support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and QA/QC efforts.
