Job summary

WSP in Dallas, TX (and Austin, TX) is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the Property & Buildings team. You will design electrical systems for a variety of building projects, coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams, and support project delivery from conception through construction.

The role requires 3–5 years of relevant experience, an EIT or progress toward licensure, and strong knowledge of NEC and building codes. Opportunity to contribute to diverse projects and grow professionally.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 3–5 years in building electrical systems design.
  • EIT certification or ability to obtain.
  • Experience with NEC and energy codes.
  • Experience using Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Strong communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical design for new construction, renovation, and tenant improvements.
  • Prepare construction documents including power, lighting, fire alarm, telecom, and low-voltage systems.
  • Develop electrical calculations: load, sizing, short-circuit, voltage drop, photometrics.
  • Create and coordinate drawings in AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Coordinate with architects and engineers across disciplines.
  • Participate in site visits and construction administration.
  • Assist with technical reports, specs, and docs.
  • Support PMs with schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Review shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, and QC reviews.
  • Contribute to client relationships and service delivery.
