Job summary

WSP USA in Dallas, TX seeks an Electrical Engineer to join the Property & Buildings team. You will design electrical systems for diverse building projects, including healthcare, education, and commercial facilities.

You will develop documentation, coordinate with architects and engineers, and support projects through construction administration, field visits, and QA/QC processes. This role may also be based in Austin, TX.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of relevant electrical engineering experience in building systems design.
• EIT certification or ability to obtain in a reasonable timeframe.
• Experience designing electrical systems for commercial, institutional, healthcare, civic, or mixed-use projects.
• Working knowledge of NEC, energy codes, and industry standards.
• Experience with Revit and AutoCAD for construction documents.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical engineering design for new construction, renovation, and tenant improvements.
• Prepare construction documents including power, lighting, fire alarm, telecom, and low-voltage systems.
• Develop electrical calculations for load analysis and short-circuit studies.
• Use AutoCAD and Revit to create and coordinate drawings and models.
• Coordinate with architects and other engineers to integrate designs.
• Participate in site visits, field investigations, and construction administration.
• Prepare technical reports, studies, specs, and project documentation.
• Support project managers with schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
