Job summary

WSP is seeking an Early Career Electrical Engineer to join our Property & Buildings Team in Dallas, Texas. You will support design and delivery of electrical systems for commercial, healthcare, higher education, science & technology, federal, and civic facilities.

Qualifications

  • ABET-accredited Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 0-1 years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
  • EIT certification or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.
  • Basic understanding of electrical power systems and building electrical design principles.
  • Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Assist design of building electrical systems including power, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage.
  • Support engineers in developing construction documents, specs, calculations, reports.
  • Perform electrical load calculations, short-circuit studies, voltage drop analyses, lighting calculations.
  • Utilize Revit, AutoCAD, and other software to develop designs and docs.
  • Coordinate with architects, mechanical, plumbing, structural engineers, and stakeholders.
  • Assist with site visits, field investigations, facility assessments, and construction observation.
  • Support preparation of engineering studies, reports, and presentations.
  • Review shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs under senior engineers.
  • Maintain understanding of building codes, NEC, and WSP quality standards.
  • Participate in project meetings and contribute to delivery.
  • Continue developing technical knowledge through mentorship and training.
