Job summary

WSP is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer in Irvine, CA to join our Property and Buildings Team. You will lead design and reviews for electrical systems across infrastructure, building, and construction projects.

You will deliver technical reports, calculations, drawings in Revit and AutoCAD Electrical, coordinate with owners and sub-consultants, and mentor junior staff while upholding QA/QC and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7–10 years of post-education experience designing electrical systems for large-scale power/utility projects.
• Extensive knowledge of infrastructure design and electrical construction laws and codes.
• Proficient with electrical design principles, permitting, and project work.
• Strong capability in technical writing and generating engineering reports and calculations.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex electrical infrastructure design, review plans for compliance with codes and regulations.
• Develop and review calculations for loads, short-circuit studies, and protective device coordination.
• Coordinate with owners, other disciplines, sub-consultants, and clients to update layout plans.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations explaining findings and recommendations.
• Provide guidance to project members and ensure QA/QC across design deliverables.
