Job summary

WSP Global Inc. is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to join the Property & Buildings team across California. The candidate will provide technical leadership, engage with clients, and drive business development while managing complex electrical design on building projects.

The role covers project lifecycles from concept through construction close‑out, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams, regulators, and clients to deliver compliant, safe, and future‑ready infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering.
• 7–10 years of post-education experience as an electrical engineer.
• Extensive knowledge of electrical design for building projects, including DSA-regulated projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
• Ability to coordinate with regulators and understand project requirements.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with engineering and non-engineering audiences.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data for design and procurement packages.
• Coordinate and review electrical infrastructure design plans for compliance with codes.
• Apply high-level electrical engineering techniques across project phases from concept to operation.
• Design and review single line, three-line diagrams, grounding, and substation layouts.
• Plan future-ready design strategies and equipment sizing.
• Review calculations for loads, short-circuit, and protective devices.
• Prepare technical reports and cost estimates for projects.
• Oversee cross-functional teams to manage budgets, hours, and materials.
