Job summary

Milwaukee Tool, headquartered in Brookfield, WI, is seeking a Sr Electrical Engineer – Battery Electronics to lead embedded system design, testing, and optimization for high‑complexity battery and power electronics projects.

You will collaborate with hardware, firmware, product development, and reliability teams to drive milestones and deliver robust electronic solutions, while traveling up to 10% as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in embedded electronics design for measurement and power control.
• Demonstrated design experience in power management with low power embedded hardware and firmware.
• Strong knowledge of design documentation, circuit simulation, schematic capture, layout, and prototype verification.
• Proven ability to create firmware for technology evaluations/investigations.
• Ability to create a Work Breakdown Structure and drive to completion with clear updates.
• Self-motivated, organized, and capable of working under pressure in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to travel ~10% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, prototyping, testing and troubleshooting of embedded electronics hardware and firmware.
• Research and engage with suppliers for new Battery Management ASICs, MCUs, power devices, and ICs.
• Provide expertise and engineering support on high-complexity projects.
• Communicate progress and remove barriers up the organizational chain with candor.
• Utilize lab equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, loads, spectrum analyzers) for debugging.
• Effectively communicate with technical and non-technical teammates across the org.
• Drive project schedules and metrics to meet organizational needs.
• Independently track projects to adhere to Milwaukee process and timelines.
