Job summary

Milwaukee Tool is seeking a Sr Electrical Engineer – Battery Electronics to lead embedded systems design and testing at our Brookfield, WI headquarters. You will collaborate with hardware, firmware, product development, and reliability teams to drive innovative battery electronics solutions.

The role requires 5+ years in embedded electronics with MCU-based designs and experience in power management, plus strong documentation, design verification, and fabrication processes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in the Embedded Electronics design field including 16/32 bit microcontroller-based circuits for measurement and power control.
• Demonstrated design experience in power management with ultra-low power embedded hardware and firmware implementations.
• Strong knowledge of design documentation, circuit simulation, schematic capture, layout, and prototype verification testing.
• Must be proficient in creation of firmware for purposes of technology evaluations/investigations.
• Proven ability to create a Work Breakdown Structure, drive to completion, and communicate progress and elevate barrier removal needs to management.
• Ability to travel 10% of the time (domestic and international).

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, prototype, test and troubleshoot embedded electronics hardware and firmware for mid to high complexity projects.
• Research and engage with prospective suppliers on selection of new technology including Lithium-Ion Battery Management ASICs, microcontrollers, Power Devices, and other analog and digital ICs.
• Provide expertise and engineering support on high complexity projects.
• Use laboratory equipment to debug and develop your design with oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, spectrum analyzers, ESD/EMC, data acquisition systems, and analysis software.
• Independently track projects to ensure adherence to schedule and the Milwaukee process.
