Job summary

Milwaukee Tool, headquartered in Brookfield, Wisconsin, seeks a Sr Electrical Engineer – Battery Electronics to lead embedded hardware and firmware development for battery-powered solutions. You will collaborate with hardware, firmware, product development, and reliability teams to drive testing, validation and technical direction.

You will apply 5+ years of embedded design experience, work with Li-Ion battery management concepts, and travel up to 10% as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5+ years in Embedded Electronics design with 16/32 bit MCUs for measurement and power control.
• Design experience in power management for ultra-low power embedded hardware and firmware.
• Strong knowledge of design documentation, circuit simulation, schematic capture, layout, and prototype verification testing.
• Proven firmware development for technology evaluations/investigations.
• Ability to create and drive a Work Breakdown Structure; communicate progress and barriers to management.
• Self-motivated, organized, process-oriented with a strong work ethic.
• Excellent problem-solving, independent judgement, and ability to work under pressure.
• Willingness to travel 10% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, prototyping, testing and troubleshooting of embedded electronics hardware and firmware for mid to high complexity projects.
• Research and select new battery and IC technologies with suppliers.
• Provide engineering support on high complexity projects.
• Demonstrate a culture of high performance with milestone-driven work and clear communications.
• Use lab equipment (oscilloscopes, PSUs, loads, analyzers) to debug and develop designs.
• Communicate and motivate across teams and levels to meet project needs.
• Drive project schedules and accountability for key metrics.
• Independently track projects to adhere to Milwaukee process.
