Job summary

Milwaukee Tool is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to own cross-domain system requirements and architectures for battery-powered embedded electronics. You will guide trade-offs between engineering, marketing, and stakeholders while mentoring junior engineers and ensuring regulatory compliance.

You will use lab equipment and contribute to agile processes, traveling up to 10% domestically and internationally. A BS in Systems/Electrical Engineering and 5+ years of relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, embedded systems, energy storage systems, power electronics or related field.
• Proficiency in applying systems thinking and MBSE methodologies in mechatronic systems.
• Ability to translate stakeholder asks into product requirements.
• Experience identifying and mitigating risks in development projects.
• Experience collecting and analyzing test data from electromechanical systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Willingness to travel 10% (domestic and international).

Responsibilities

• Lead system requirements and architecture across multiple domains and product lines.
• Decompose and maintain system-level requirements aligned with business objectives.
• Escalate challenges to senior leaders and drive corrective actions.
• Create and maintain system diagrams, hardware/firmware interfaces, and risk assessments.
• Refine tools and processes for agile, high-velocity product development.
• Develop and execute system verification and validation strategies.
• Communicate progress and risks up to leadership while mentoring junior engineers.
• Ensure designs meet regulatory requirements (UL, CEC, CE, ANSI).
• Flow down requirements to domains to ensure compliant designs.
