Job summary

Veolia in North America seeks a Senior Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager to develop and implement division EHS strategy. You will coordinate with the corporate EHS team to ensure compliance, supervise field operations, and guide safety leaders and staff in safe work practices.

The role requires oversight of EHS programs, field presence, and strong coaching and communication skills. Travel to Nassau County facilities and project sites is expected, with on-call support for emergencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Safety, environmental engineering, or equivalent.
• 7-10 years of related experience in Environmental, Health & Safety and Security compliance.
• 5 years of work experience in the water and wastewater industry, laboratory, or other utility industry.
• Successful record of coaching and developing safety engagement and leaders.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety leadership training, workshops, coaching and resources.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop EHS risk reduction plans.
• Mentor Site Safety Coordinators and Project Management.
• Lead Division training programs and develop EHS training resources.
• Support safety culture assessments and engagement strategies.
• Travel to facilities and project sites to support EHS activities.
• Assist in review, update and development of corporate EHS standards, policies and procedures.
• Monitor and report EHS data and OSHA logs.
