Qualifications

• High school or equivalent
• 1 year in Health Information Management in an acute care facility
• Electronic Health Record/Cerner
• Customer Service
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
• Typing speed 60 wpm
• Advanced writing and communication skills
• Organization/time management
• Ability to function independently and as a team member
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Demonstrate excellent customer service behavior
• Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) required within 30 days of hire (LA City only)

Responsibilities

• Analyze the Electronic Health Record for completion and distribute communication per regulatory requirements
• Analyze inpatient and ambulatory accounts and assign deficiencies to providers
• Provide accurate summary of document status for coding and compliance
• Process and validate reports and troubleshoot EHR/Transcription system issues
• Handle transcription queue processing and ensure timely distribution of transcribed reports
• File, store, and retrieve medical records with proper release of information
• Prepare records for scanning and quality check for accuracy
• Assist staff and clinicians with EHR-related training and support
• Maintain task queues and monitor record status
• Perform other duties as assigned
