Job summary

Qualifications

• Two years of clerical experience preferably in a health care environment.
• Knowledge of regulatory/compliance standards.
• Preferably completion of Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Scans and indexes medical records into the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Performs quality control audits and correct errors on scanned documents.
• Compiles, processes, and maintains medical records of hospital and clinic patients.
• Releases protected health information for direct patient care according to standards set by state, federal and other regulatory agencies.
• Provides exceptional customer service to patients and customers; manages incoming calls and directs inquiries.
