Job summary

Enercon Services, Inc. seeks a Senior Ecologist to join our Nuclear Services Environmental Licensing Team. Lead regulatory interactions, gather site data, and stay current on environmental regulations to support nuclear licensing projects nationwide.

Based in one of several U.S. offices (Kennesaw, GA; Naperville, IL; Overland Park, KS; Fort Worth, TX; Plano, TX), with potential for additional locations. Occasional fieldwork and collaboration with regulatory agencies are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of environmental consulting, nuclear power, or related field.
• Working knowledge of ESA, NEPA, MBTA, BGEPA, etc.
• Experience working with federal or state regulatory agencies.
• Experience developing technical reports, environmental reports and supporting regulatory reviews.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency using MS Word and MS Excel.
• Ability to travel/work in the field 5% of the time, with typical travel durations of 3-4 days.

Responsibilities

• Environmental Impact Assessment & Compliance: Conduct environmental reviews to assess the potential impact of proposed nuclear facilities on terrestrial and aquatic resources. Prepare environmental reports and biological assessments in accordance with NRC, NEPA, and other guidelines.
• Data Collection & Site Evaluation: Participate in site visits to gather environmental data and assess potential environmental impacts.
• Stakeholder Engagement & Communication: Interact with regulatory agencies, stakeholders, and the public to address environmental concerns.
• Fieldwork & Environmental Protection: Develop and implement environmental protection measures and conduct resource evaluations.
• Mentorship & Proposal Support: Mentor junior staff and assist in proposals and qualifications statements.
