Job summary

Tokio Marine HCC is seeking an experienced Senior E&S Construction Underwriter to develop and manage a profitable middle‑market construction book of business. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of E&S underwriting experience, a production and business‑development mindset, and a proven ability to market to brokers and grow a territory with minimal supervision.

The role is remote with pay transparency reflecting a range of $94,200 to $164,300 annually.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years underwriting E&S construction business.
• Experience underwriting middle-market construction accounts.
• Ability to market to brokers and develop business relationships.
• Own sizeable book of business with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate new and renewal policy applications and related documents to classify and assess each risk, determine acceptability, assign rating, indicate endorsements and limits, and determine appropriate pricing.
• Contact and respond to inquiries from brokers within designated timeframe to provide information and underwriting resource.
• Create and maintain all documentation including new and renewal bound files and underwriting worksheets per guidelines.
• Adhere to underwriting authority directives and company policies and procedures.
• Approve or deny within given authority or recommend action to higher authority.
• Cultivate relationships with internal and external contacts to facilitate underwriting and business development.
