Job summary

Tokio Marine HCC International is seeking a Senior Construction Underwriter for a remote role focused on the middle-market E&S construction book. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of E&S construction underwriting, with a track record handling larger, complex contractor accounts.

You will work with minimal supervision, make sound underwriting decisions, and contribute to profitable book growth. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent education is required, with travel up to 25% as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of E&S construction underwriting experience.
• Experience underwriting middle-market construction accounts, not small business.
• Pursuit of professional designations (RPLU/CPCU/AU/CIC) depending on specialty area.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate new and renewal policy applications and related documents to classify and assess each risk.
• Determine acceptability, assign rating, endorsements, and pricing.
• Maintain documentation for new and renewal files and underwriting worksheets.
• Adhere to underwriting authority directives and departmental guidelines.
• Serve as a resource to other staff on underwriting procedures and policies.
• Develop understanding of factors affecting policy rating and risk.
