Job summary

Tokio Marine HCC International is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Underwriter for a remote, national US role focused on middle-market E&S construction. The candidate should bring at least 5 years of E&S construction underwriting experience and a proven ability to grow a profitable book of business.

The role requires independent work, strong risk assessment skills, and adherence to underwriting guidelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of E&S construction underwriting experience.
• Experience underwriting middle-market construction accounts.
• Must manage a meaningful book of business.
• Bachelor's degree or the equivalent education and/or experience.
• Pursue RPLU/CPCU/AU/CIC or equivalent designation when applicable.
• Up to 25% travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate new and renewal policy applications and related documents to classify and assess each risk, determine acceptability, assign rating, indicate endorsements and limits, and determine appropriate pricing.
• Respond to verbal and written inquiries from brokers within designated timeframe to provide information and underwriting support.
• Create and maintain all documentation including new/renewal bound files and underwriting worksheets.
• Adhere to underwriting authority directives, guidelines, and company policies.
• Serve as a resource to staff regarding underwriting procedures and guidelines.
• Develop understanding of factors that affect policy rating and risk.
