Job summary

Volkert Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Drainage Engineer to support our Southeast Region in Florida offices. A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required, with a Florida P.E. license and 5–10 years of drainage/water resources experience preferred.

You will lead data collection, design stormwater systems using MicroStation, Civil3D, and related software, and coordinate with subconsultants to deliver complex projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; master's in water resources a plus.
• PE license in Florida required.
• 5–10 years of drainage/water resources and FDOT experience.
• Experience with listed software and FDOT standards.

Responsibilities

• Collect data for Project Plans and reports.
• Design stormwater and storm drain systems.
• Analyze hydrologic and hydraulic models for transportation projects.
• Assist with and prepare project plans using CAD software (MicroStation, OpenRoads, Civil3D).
• Prepare engineering reports, calculations, schedules, and associated details.
• Collaborate across disciplines and subconsultants to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Mentor junior staff and oversee design activities.
• Perform additional professional, management, marketing, and networking duties as assigned.
