Job summary

Volkert Inc. is seeking a Senior Drainage Engineer for our Southeast Region in Florida. A BS in Civil Engineering is required, with PE licensure in Florida and 5–10 years of drainage/water resources experience.

Proficiency in MicroStation, Geopak, Civil3D, StormCAD, ORD, ICPR, HEC-RAS, GIS, and SUDA is preferred. FDOT standards knowledge and pre-employment screening apply. Mentoring and cross-disciplinary collaboration are key.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's of Science in Civil Engineering (Master's in water resources a plus).
• Valid Professional Engineer Licensure (P.E.) in Florida required.
• 5–10 years of drainage/water resources and FDOT experience.
• Experience with FDOT standards and procedures; knowledge of DEP and water districts.

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze data for project plans and reports.
• Design stormwater and storm drain systems using CAD tools.
• Develop hydrologic and hydraulic models for transportation projects.
• Prepare plans, quantities, costs, and specifications.
• Review estimates and drawings for compliance with requirements.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver on schedule.
• Mentor junior staff and oversee design activities.
