Job summary

Volkert Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Drainage Engineer for the Southeast Region, based in any Florida office. A BS in Civil Engineering with a Florida PE is required, with 5–10 years of drainage/water resources experience and FDOT familiarity.

You will collect data, design stormwater systems, and model hydrology/hydraulics while mentoring junior staff and coordinating with multiple disciplines to deliver quality projects on schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Master's in water resources is a plus.
• Florida PE licensure required.

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze data for inclusion in project plans and reports.
• Design stormwater and storm drain systems using professional software.
• Analyze and design hydrologic/hydraulic models for transportation projects.
• Prepare project plans with CAD tools (MicroStation, OpenRoads, Civil3D, etc.).
• Prepare reports, calculations, and specifications for projects.
• Assist with schedules, quantities, and cost estimates.
• Review drawings for compliance with requirements.
• Collaborate across disciplines and with subconsultants.
• Mentor junior staff and oversee design activities.
