Job summary

Volkert Inc. is seeking a Senior Drainage Engineer for its Southeast Region, located in any Florida office. A BS in Civil Engineering is required, with a Florida PE and 5–10 years of drainage/water resources experience, including FDOT standards.

Responsibilities include data collection for plans, hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, design of stormwater systems, coordination with subconsultants, and mentoring junior staff. Proficiency in MicroStation, Civil3D and related tools is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required; Master’s in water resources is a plus
• Valid P.E. license in Florida required
• 5–10 years drainage/water resources and FDOT experience preferred
• Experience with MicroStation, Geopak, Civil3D, StormCAD, ORD, ICPR, HEC-RAS, GIS or SUDA recommended

Responsibilities

• Collect data for Project Plans and reports
• Design stormwater and storm drain systems; analyze hydrologic models
• Prepare project plans using MicroStation, OpenRoads, Civil3D and related tools
• Collaborate across disciplines to deliver quality projects on schedule
• Mentor junior staff and supervise production activity
• Prepare construction details, quantities, and cost estimates
• Review drawings for compliance with project requirements
• Support regulatory permitting with FDOT and Water Management agencies
